Peter Fuss in London

Peter Fuss, author of Sometimes I Feel Ashamed to Be Polish, Jesus Christ King of Poland, For the Laugh of God and Santo Subito is an underground, controversial artist in Poland, because of his nonconformist posters and billboards.
Fuss is good observer and commentator of the political and social reality in Poland, but also he is taking part in international art events - For the Laugh of God presented in London, October 2007 (possible thanks young art critics and artists movements Modelarnia and help of Polish Cultural Institute in London) is his comment about famous Damien Hirst's skull and its cheaper version.
Martina Klemmer from London Envie d’art Gallery discovered Peter Fuss through Noga Galeria.
Fuss's history as rebellious, working incognito vagabond and outsider inspired Envie d’art to take a closer look at Polish art market. Thanks that inspiration we will have great opportunity to see in London the newest project of Peter Fuss: Santo Subito, series of colourful garden popes. Cycle is artist’s comment about ‘Polish Pope’ cult in Poland.
Lovely, pop-arty garden popes are essence of folks markets, commercial souvenirs with picture of Pope John Paul II.
The subject of the cycle is commercialization of image; even sanity can't win against it...
